What is the Third Eye?
Anytime you get around psychics you’ll hear them talk about the “Third Eye”. What exactly is the third eye?
As someone who is developing their psychic abilities, I have really learned the importance of getting clear on definitions of words, and not just assuming you know what it is by guessing. So today I decided to really dig into the phrase “Third Eye” to find out what it means.
The Third Eye is a symbol which can be referred to as the eye of knowledge or it can symbolize a state of enlightenment. It also is known as a portal to higher consciousness. People associate the Third Eye with clairvoyance, precognition, visions and even out of body experiences.
The Third Eye is located between the eye brows and has been suggested to be the same as the Pineal Gland. It is associated with the colour indigo and is the 6th Chakra. If you want to open or balance the Third Eye, some of the things you can try are meditation, relaxation, visualization, or yoga.
To me personally, the Third Eye is the gateway to a spiritual connection between oneself and their higher self/spirit guides.
What does the Third Eye mean to you?
Why Can’t I Eat Meat?
OK, so for the past couple of weeks my life have been completely upside down. I’ve started opening myself up a lot and with that some really weird and really funny things have been happening to me. I’ve been in 2 car accidents (neither caused by me), spilled numerous things on people, had spirits visit me and even had them tapping me on the shoulder while in the car! These types of things are becoming a daily norm for me, which I am totally OK with. 🙂
However, the latest thing that has taken me completely by surprise, is the inability to consume any meat products. What the shit??? LOL!
This started just under a week ago and I don’t know if I will be able to explain it exactly, but I will try. It started out with feeling like I can sense the energy difference between the meat and the veggies. Like the meat felt denser than the veggies did, energy wise. Another way to explain this I guess would be the difference between heavy and light…if that makes sense. Now it is to the point that I can’t stomach it. I get VERY queasy after the first bite. It is quite bizarre!
And the veggies? They taste so good!! I’ve always eaten vegetables, but this is very different! It’s like they are singing when I eat them!!!
Is it psychological, you ask? I am sure that it isn’t. I didn’t have any bad experiences with meat or get food poisoning or even just a cold/flu. This just happened, almost overnight. I really feel that this is spiritual and I am looking forward to a vegetarian lifestyle! This is something that I would not have been able to say a year ago.
I was a meat and potatoes kind of gal. Now I think I will be eating fish…crazy! I have never liked fish, ever! But I have been totally drawn to it in the last week. I’ve had it once this past week…and plan to have it more often. 🙂
Can’t wait to see what’s next! Or can I?
Oh, How Things Have Changed!
About a year ago my life was much different than it is now. I was just beginning my journey into developing my psychic abilities, not really sure what was going to come out of it.
I was going about my days with no sense of purpose, not really sure what I wanted out of life. I knew I wanted to help people, but i wasn’t really sure of the how…until now.
I knew that I really wanted to be able to do readings for people, but could I really do it?
The biggest thing I’ve worked on over the past year to get me to this point is to work on my Awareness. And by that, I mean just paying attention to things! So simple, right? The funniest part of my whole journey so far was that I was already doing “psychic” things, I just wasn’t aware of it! I’ve always been able to walk into a room and pick up on what people are feeling or thinking. I’ve always been able to sense/tap into people’s energy and give them the advice they were looking for! People would say to me, “how do you know this stuff?!”. I wouldn’t really think about the how…until now.
I have a couple of mentors that I have been working with recently, one of which pushed me to do something I felt I totally wasn’t ready for. This was mainly because I was being chicken. I was on a training call with him and he put a client on the phone and said, “do a reading on him”. Just like that. I was like…..uhhhhhhhhhh. 🙂 Let me tell you, by the end of the call, I was totally amazed with myself. I was very nervous, but I was able to pick up some great guidance for him! And the best part was that I totally LOVED it! I was finally that much closer to my purpose in life!
Since that call, I’ve been practicing more over the phone and through email. I find that I prefer email readings at the moment, but with practice, I think this will change. 🙂
Is Maui Tired?
I was recently in Maui, which happens to be one of my favorite places to go, and I noticed something different about the island while I was there this time.
Maui felt tired.
So…how do I explain this? In the past, when I had visited, Maui was a much quieter island. While I was there, I was able to connect with my surroundings and feel at peace and the energy of the island was so much different. It felt alive. If you couldn’t feel it, you could see it. You could see the life in the surroundings, the lush green rain-forest, the fragrant air, and all the beautiful colours.
Over the past 10-15 years it has really built up and become a much busier place to be. There are a lot more tourists, and many more people residing there. When comparing Maui from 3 years ago to now, I could really feel the difference and an even bigger difference from 10 years ago. This time it felt drained there. Like the life is being sucked out of it.
Here is another comparison that is similar to what I am explaining. Think about eating a meal full of fresh vegetables. Picture your plate with all different kinds of vegetables, different colours. How do you feel after eating a meal like that? Light, energized, ready to go, right? Now think about eating a Big Mac with Large Fries and a Large Coke from McDonald’s. How do you feel after you eat that? Tired, upset stomach, indigestion, among other things.
This is the difference I am talking about. The energy you feel from those two meals are completely different. The energy I felt from Maui was completely different. This is something I like to do when I go to different places; get a feeling of the place I am in or of the people around me.
Have you ever felt a difference in energy when visiting a place multiple times?
Hallelujah by K.D. Lang
One of my new favorite songs is the K.D. Lang version of Hallelujah. I know it has been around for a while, but I have recently come across it and really fallen in love with it.
I went on You Tube to see if I could find a performance of her version, and I came across something so amazing. It is a version of her singing it on a morning radio show in 2004. The raw emotion I saw and felt in this video really made me see how truly gifted she is. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did.
Need Help Meditating?
One of the first things I learned from my mentor about developing psychic abilities is the importance of meditating on a regular basis. But what is meditation? How does one meditate? Is there a right way or a wrong way to meditate? These were some of the first questions I wondered….
As a beginner, I would quite often fall asleep about 5 minutes into any meditation, whether it was on my own or with a guided audio meditation. I would have trouble quieting my mind and I was easily distracted with outside noises. I didn’t really know what to meditate about or what to do when I was “meditating”. I was really starting to get frustrated with sitting there and waiting for something magical to happen. 🙂
So, what changed?? Well, I received some great tips from my mentor, but a lot of the help I received came from the book she has just written about meditation. For me, it came at the perfect time, as most things do. This book is great for a beginner at meditation, as well as a great refresher for people that have been meditating for years. It is easy to read and flows really well.
The name of the book is “The Secret of Simple Meditation”, by Tamara Hawk.
In this book she talks about:
- How to Meditate
- Balancing Energy and Chakras
- Intentions and Affirmations
- Awareness, plus much more…
I am really glad I read this book as it helped me with putting a step-by-step system system together for doing my meditations. As a beginner, having a simple system to follow made it so much easier to get into a routine of meditating on a regular basis. Things are starting to flow better for me, I feel more balanced and I recognize when I am out of balance much faster now.
If you are struggling with your meditating and need some help, then consider reading this book. I’m so glad I did.
Thanks Tamara!

Reiki Level 1
My husband and I attended a Reiki Level One class on Sunday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I had taken Level One last year, but I wanted to go again for a couple of reasons.
The teacher that we chose teaches a more traditional Japenese version of Reiki, which varies a little from the westernized Reiki. I also wanted to refresh some of the techniques taught to us in level one. Not to mention that it was a great way to spend some time with Paul (my Husband) on a Sunday afternoon. 🙂
When we started to look for a Reiki teacher we decided to look at different websites and were instantly drawn to Jennifer’s webpage, Mountain Sky Reiki She has lots of information on her site about herself, her travels and Reiki. We knew right away that she would be a great teacher for us.
We spent the day learning the true history of Reiki, the 5 precepts, many different healing positions, meditations and treatments for ourselves as well as others.
What I found most interesting was the difference in myself when I compare how I was in this class verses the class last year. The most noticeable difference was in my hands. When I received my first attunement last year, I was able to feel a bit of heat in my hands, but that was it. This time around, I could feel heat, cold, a lot of tingling and even waves of energy at times. I also noticed that the different colours I am able to see were much more vibrant when doing the self healing. I was quite surprised and pleased by the end of the class!
There could be many reasons for this difference, and I honestly don’t know the answer. If I were to guess (or use some intuition 😉 ) , I would say that I am much more open to the Reiki healing process now than I was last year, and with that, the energy flowing through me is stronger and more noticeable.
I am really glad I took this class again. I feel that it is definetly a great stepping stone for anyone looking to develop any of their natural abilities or even for people looking for alternative healing.
Legacy Of The Divine Tarot Cards
Last week I decided that I wanted to get a deck of Tarot cards to help me with my intuitive development, and I was lucky enough to have my husband offer to get them for me as a Christmas gift. So, off I went in search for the perfect deck. After about an hour of looking in different places online I came across the Legacy of the Divine set and was completely amazed at the detailed craftsmanship of these cards. I knew right away that these cards were the ones for me!
The creator of these cards is Ciro Marchetti and he is truly a master at his craft. He is originally from the United Kingdom, where he studied art in London, and his career led him through Europe and South America before deciding to settle in the United States. He has a design agency in Florida where he creates his visions, and he also gives workshops and lectures on digital imagery and illustration at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute.
Although I have not received the cards yet, I was able to use some pictures from his website so that I can show you just how beautiful these cards are. Not only are these cards full of symbolism, they have a story behind them. You can find this story on an interactive website that he has built just for these cards. That website is www.legacyofthedivinetarot.com. You are able to get a general feel of the website as a visitor, but in order to experience the full website you’ll need to become a member. From what I have seen of the site thus far, I definitely plan on becoming a member.
Four more sleeps till Christmas!
Drea’s Intuition Launched!
I knew I was different…
It was about a year ago that I started to become more aware of the fact that there was more to my life than going to a job that I didn’t love and feeling like I had no purpose in life. I then decided to seriously start my quest into the world of spirituality and intuitive living. I had started reading books on developing your intuition, but I felt like I needed something more hands on. 🙂 I went to a class on Reiki Energy Healing and completed my Level One Reiki and received my certificate. This was the start to my journey in intuitive development. I am really glad I took that course and I think it’s a great way to start out. I did a lot of self-healing practice and I really started to feel like there was so much more to learn.
At the same time, I was also going to a meditation circle that met once a month and did different meditation exercises, which was really neat too. I found it a bit overwhelming the first time because I am able to feel the energy of other people fairly well and I wasn’t quite sure on how to block out the energy of the different people at the time. The second time around was a bit easier on me! This was another great way for me to start out my development.
About 6 months later I was able to start seeing a mentor regularly and have been seeing her every month since. We have been working on meditations, self-discovery and other exercises to help develop my intuition. It has been an amazing couple of months (4-5) so far! I have learned a lot and I feel like I am growing every day. I am becoming more and more aware of where my gifts lie.
I am looking forward to blogging about my progress and sharing my stories with you!
